COUNTRY PORCH
August Newsletter
Greetings from The Porch!
Up here in the northwest
its 100 degrees in the shade and so hot even the fish won’t bite. Bales
of alfalfa dot the landscape while combines comb fields of golden wheat.
Evening concerts float music through our town and zucchini is generously
being passed over the fence from neighbor to neighbor.
It must be canning time!
Dress your kitchen AND yourself for the occasion with pretty, summery aprons,
dishtowels
and oven mitts with
over 68 patterns to choose from.
Or capture the spirit of
summer idleness by spreading a quilt
out in the backyard, serving yourself some tea and indulging in the art
of creativity. Imagine a new valance
in your kitchen; change those worn tiers,
what about a vintage table
cloth or put a tiny lamp
on your kitchen counter.
Whether it’s your time to
be productive or a time for reflection, remember: There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven. Ecclesiastes. 3:1
