COUNTRY PORCH
March 2005 Newsletter
Greetings from The Porch!
It is the first mild day
of March. Each minute sweeter than before . . . there is a blessing
in the air. - William Wordsworth
March arrives in our town
grouchy as a hungry spring bear, but then like magic, there it is . . .
the first whisper of spring. Folks get out and sweep the last of
winter off their walks, street cleaners send up great clouds of dust and
we all roll up our sleeves and begin cleaning up after old man winter.
Here at The Porch we’re changing
too and the dust is a flying. Our shop is stuffed to the rafters
with inventory, all 62 patterns including 26 NEW ones! You can look
forward to matching dinnerware,
a new selection of lamps, our Pewter Collection,
and many new home accessories that we’re still loading up on our website.
We ask your patience while we’re under construction. Meanwhile, why
not . . .
RECYCLE your
dishtowels to
the rag bag
REDECORATE with colorful
new country style curtains or
valances
TRY out a new
table setting
or
CHANGE your whole outlook
about your bath with a new shower curtain
Take a minute to browse and
begin that creative process. You’ll find many new patterns; check out our
NEW Favorites, Quilt of the Month, Candle Club, Decorating Hints and Seasonal
Recipes. Oh, and don’t forget to bookmark so you can find your way
back home.
C’mon In!

NEW!
Cajun
Some like it hot and spicy!
Rich rustic red, pumpkin, soothing sage greens, a pinch of mustard and
warm inviting neutrals are the key ingredients for one of our newest patterns
from the Spice Cabinet collection. Add a little razzle-dazzle with
French Hen napkin rings in your choice of antique brass,
iron or pewter.
Or mix it up with dishtowels from our Chicken Wire collection,
Retro hand-embroidered
dishtowels or roosters from Rise n’ Shine.
Add a whole new dimension
with accessories from our Sampler pattern.
This is too much fun!

Dijon
Turn up the heat!
Tawny pumpkin, soothing sage greens, spicy sand and warm inviting neutrals
all come together in this recipe for something hot and spicy. Mix
it up with the traditional look of Pineapple
or add a little sizzle with French Hen napkin rings in your choice of
antique brass,
iron or
pewter.
Add another layer of design with accessories from our
Antique Fruit Collection. How fun is this?

Santa Fe
Soft earth colors of bold
stripes in pastel shades of moss, medium blue, peach and sand create this
lovely sun-baked pattern. Dress up your table with classic Hammered
Cuff napkin rings in your choice of antique brass
or pewter. |

Four Bells
Who knew retro feed sack
memorabilia would become the center piece for our tables and vintage laying
mash and dairy feed signs would decorate our dinnerware!
The possibilities of decorating
your kitchen are NOW endless. Retro colors of red and blue on an antique
natural background decorate table linens and compliment the generous style
of dinnerware. Dishtowels are suitable for framing or using as table
runners or better yet make some pillows for your kitchen chairs.
Add a dash of whimsy with
French Hen and Rooster napkin rings in your choice of antique brass,
iron
or pewter. If this pattern doesn’t make your chickens lay, check
out our other barnyard patterns; Coq Au Vin,
Barnyard Rooster,
Rise ‘n Shine,
Ruler of the Roost. |

Delft
The Delft style was created
in the 17th century by one of Holland’s most famous Dutch masters, Vermeer.
A beautiful pattern of florals in clear hues of cobalt on soft white, Delft
has been popular in homes for centuries. Clean and crisp, Delft can
be teamed up with our collection of pewter napkin rings and our NEW Chamber
Candle Lamp and Pewter Collection soon to be on-line.
Delight your senses with
more blue floral from our European Country Collection; see Bella Rosa,
Tuscan Sun, and
Provence. |

Quilt of the Month |
Colette Quilt
Country scrappy! Patches
of old-fashioned cranberry calicos and plaids in sage and country red define
cozy, country comfort. Sprays of pretty silk ribbon embroidery embellish
the border of dusky red ticking. Two more borders, one of toasted gold
and cranberry and the other of deep country red give the look of added
warmth.
Darling country rooster
needlepoint pillows and a matching hooked rug will wake you to the sound
of country! Shown with Red Multi Stripes dust ruffle (can also be coordinated
with Mauve Stripes). From C&F Enterprises. |
