COUNTRY PORCH
May Newsletter

Greetings from the Porch!
Each season brings with it a change in attitude and The Porch changes right along with it.  Gorgeous hanging baskets drape along our wrap-around porch now, while iris bloom and we wait patiently for Jack-Frost to leave before setting out bedding plants.  We welcome sunny weather so we can just putter!

Come on and rediscover the art of puttering.  Throw out what isn’t beautiful or useful like those forlorn dish towels, put up a new valance (we have 68 patterns!), delight yourself with a new table setting or change your whole attitude about your bath with a new shower curtain.

Nurture your authentic flair and revive the sacred soulcraft of homecaring. You’ll find many new patterns; check out our All-Time Favorites, Quilt of the Month, Candle Club and Seasonal Recipes.  Oh, and don’t forget to bookmark so you can find your way back home.

“Ah!  There’s nothing like staying home for real comfort.” - Jane Austen.

Country Cupboard Kitchen Decorating Theme Country Cupboard
Country Cupboard is simple abundance in a farm fresh or Mission craftsman style.  Some of us here at The Porch have changed our kitchen decorating theme to include this charming pattern and just love its simple charm!  It comes in country red or blue on off-white and mixes nicely with Country Toile for an English cottage look.  For a farm or country look try mixing with forged heart, twist or knotted iron napkin rings.  Fabric is 100% cotton.

Moose
Our popular North Woods plaid of navy and tan never loses its charm. Small stripes of gold and red with hunter green embroidered moose summon up the call of the wild. Set a woodsy table with antique brass or iron Moose napkin rings or bask in the glow of a matching lamp shade.  For more decorating ideas, go to kitchen decorating themes. Moose tiers come in a plaid pattern only.  Fabric is 100% cotton.

Quilt of the Month
Chantelle
Pretty as a summer cottage rose garden! Imagine a border of blooms in multiple shades of mauve and rose with sage leaves on an ivory background.  The colors in this quilt have the patina of age, of a cherished and well-loved family heirloom. Chantelle quilt is a cotton filled, pre-washed quilt, and is featured with Sage Leaves bedding accessories.

Compliment your romantic rose garden with pillow shams, quilted pillows, hooked rugs, and quilted throws.

Meanwhile back at The Porch, May is beginning to warm and we can throw open the shop doors and inhale the promise of summer.  We partake in the spirit of bi-monthly potlucks and this recipe is yummy as a veggie dip.

The Country Porch Dip Mix

Country Porch
Sundried Tomato & Roasted Garlic Dip
1 C mayo
1 C sour cream
2 T Sundried Tomato & Roasted Garlic Dip Mix Seasoning

Mix together and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.  Serve with cut-up cold veggies, rolled up salami and other Italian cold cuts, shrimp, hot fried calamari, deep fried mozzarella sticks, potato, corn and pita chips.
