COUNTRY PORCH
October 2007 Newsletter Delicious Autumn
Greetings from The Porch!
Up here in the North Country summer has drifted on
leaving us cloaked in rainy days and falling golden leaves. The lakes are empty now save a few brave
souls fishing Chinook and Bluebacks and our zucchini plants have finally called it quits.
Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about
the earth seeking the successive autumns.
~ George Eliot
We love autumn! It's like starting fresh, recycling that which is worn and putting out our newest
patterns of fall country style curtains,
table linens,
ceramic pottery,
shower curtains,
curtain valances and tiers, NEW
tab cut out valances, NEW
layered valances and
homespun dishtowels.
So pack up the remains of summer and bring on a palate of rustic jewel tone colors! Turn your home into a cozy
Patriotic,
Cottage,
Farmhouse or
Lodge accented with
primitives and
country decor. And with the holidays right around the corner we've stocked up on enough
Christmas decorating ideas to keep you
sleepless in your hometown.
October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
~ George Cooper, "October's Party"

Quilts for the Fall Season
Fall has begun its journey with chilly nights
and unpredictable daytime temperatures. Keep a pile of farmhouse quilts
at the ready for cocooning and snoozing. |

Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread and pumpkin pie.
