from The Porch!
Here at The Porch we feel the first stirring of our most favorite
season. Like the act of ‘putting up’ we are stocking our shelves
with mounds of beautiful country fall linens,
country style
curtains, valances,
tablecloths,
shower
curtains, and kitchen
dishtowels. Our NEW Ceramics collection has us exclaiming
over every little new piece that comes in and we can’t wait to see the

The Porch it’s Indian Summer Potluck time! Here’s
a yummy recipe to come home to.
Slow-Cooker Apple Pie
Taste
of Autumn - Gooseberry Patch
Ingredients
- 8 tart
apples, cored, peeled and sliced
- 2 eggs
- 1¼
t cinnamon
- 1 t
vanilla extract
- ¼
t allspice
- 1½
c biscuit baking mix, divided
- ¾
c milk
- 1/3 c
brown sugar, packed
- ¾
c sugar
- ¼
t nutmeg
- 2 T butter, softened
- 3 T chilled butter
Directions
Toss
apples with cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Place
in a lightly greased slow cooker.
Combine milk, softened butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and ½ cup
biscuit baking
mix; spoon over apples. Combine
remaining biscuit baking mix and brown sugar; cut in chilled butter
until
crumbly. Sprinkle over mixture in slow
cooker; do not stir. Cover and cook on
low setting 6-7 hours or until apples are tender. Serves
6 to 8.
