Spring is almost here in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho at The Country Porch....
and we have so many new things to share! The store is filled to the
rafters and everyone is anxious to make some fresh changes in their
homes. We have lots of fun new items that will bring the feeling of
spring your direction and for many of you in the Midwest and on the
east coast, we know you are ready!

Recipes |
Texas Sheet Cake
1 cup water
4 T. cocoa
2 cubes butter
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
½ tsp. salt 2 eggs
½ cup sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
Bring water, cocoa, and butter to a boil in a large sauce pan.
Remove from the heat and add the flour, sugar and salt, mixing
well. Beat in the eggs, sour cream and baking soda and pour
into a greased jelly roll pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25
minutes. Make the frosting while the cake is baking.
Chocolate Pecan Frosting
1 cube butter
4 T. cocoa
6 T. milk
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. pure vanilla
1 cup pecans
Combine butter and cocoa and milk and bring to a boil. Remove
from heat and stir in remaining ingredients. Beat well and
spread over the hot cake from the oven... So easy!
Pam makes 3 of these at a time! What a big heart! One for
school, one for work, and one for her family at home... A treat
for everyone!
